It’s not as easy as it looks, but it’s no wonder that some job ads out there request specific qualifications. It’s a fact of life: you have to have the experience and training already there before getting the job. Normally a business doesn’t have the time to deal with training, especially if it’s specialized training.
However…. That’s why you have some of those ads specifying that they would be “willing to train the right individual.” While it’s an undertaking, it might actually be a businessperson’s worth to put the effort in training. The one advantage is literally injecting your routine and work process into the prospective individual just starting the job with you. Most would consider that being a mentor. You are guaranteed your tested and proven methods executed the way you want and when you want. There’s no fuss. With someone ‘experienced’, their work routine might be completely different and not compatible with the way you work; then it becomes a hassle to try and train an ‘experienced’ individual on how you like the business to be conducted.
Moreover, countless CMS (Computer Management Systems) options exist these days, thanks to the internet. You actually might not need to focus any of your attention in training the right individual. The computer does it for you (as long, of course, it’s the “right individual”). It’s also something you can do gradually in your business and also repeat on many occasions, such as every six months when work evaluations are scheduled to determine pay raises or any other issues. There are ways to make it as easy as possible to widen the range of applicants.
The bottom line, though, is this: you want convenience. You want to maximize your time and effort toward your company and not mess around with training this and training that. Both ways provide convenience; so really the choice is up to you. Either way, you get optimal results in your business.
